STOR

The objective of the project was to take a branded product ( a collapsible laundry basket ) and rebrand it with a new logo, packaging, and Amazon stack images.

Logo

Preliminary brainstorming and sketching was done using an Apple Pencil and the Procreate app.  I wanted to have a modern logo that depicted the expandability of the product without being overly obvious.  I chose to use the name ” STOR ” which is swedish for ” big “.  A box is used as a symbol for the product and its available space.  The centers of the horizontal and vertical lines are dissected in order to create corner arrows.  These arrows point outwards symbolizing the expandability of the products.

Packaging

The original packaging consisted of a large adhesive sticker label on the inside of the bottom tray of the basket as well as a hang tag.  The adhesive label was very hard to remove and the vendor suggested to just leave it on to prevent very bad sticker residue from remaining on the tray.

I believe for this type of product its very important for the customer to be able to open it and see its size.   Even if the measurements are on the labels, customers will still want to see it for themselves.  So I chose to use packaging that would make it easy for the customer to test the product.  My concept was to create a label insert that slides into the holes of the basket.  This way the user can easily remove the insert after purchase without any risk of residue.

A hang tag was also used in order to show the product and its features while being stacked on top of each other on a shelf.  I photographed the product, then composited the product with lifestyle images that I incorporated in the packaging design.

Photography and Amazon Stack Images

I photographed the newly branded product and created a 7 image set to be used as Amazon™ stack images.  This includes lifestyle composites, as well as detail shots and measurements.
